Andreas Kondylis was born on March 16, 1979 and is a lawyer in the Supreme Civil and Criminal Court of Greece “Areios Pagos”. He is the Mayor of Alimos since September 2014.
He has studied at the Law Schools of Athens and Paris. Holder of a Master’s Degree (Master) in Civil Law of New Technologies, specializing in legal issues arising from modern Technology, such as Genetic Experiments, Cloning, Internet, Personal Data Protection, etc. .
He is fluent speaker in English, French and German.
He has been Municipal Councilor of Alimos from 2003 to 2014, Deputy Mayor of Social Policy (2007 – 2008), President of Municipal Kindergartens (2009 – 2010) and Deputy Mayor of Administrative and Social Services (2011 – 2013).
From a very young age he dealt with municipal problems. Since 1996 he was an active member of the Ampelakia Association, while he took part in the activities of the Coordinating Committee for the beach of Alimos and the former airport. President of the Athletic Association A.L.F.A. (2007 – 2008).
Deputy of the Mayor as President in the Municipal Committee, member of the Board of Directors of the Intermunicipal Health Network (2007 – 2010), Secretary of the Municipal Council (2003 – 2006), President of School Committees (2003 – 2010) and representative of the Municipality of Alimos at the Social Intervention Center (2007 – 2009). He has also worked on the establishment of the Municipal Council of Alimos’ Youth, on the reduction of the Municipal Fees for vulnerable social groups (the needy, people with special needs), the operation of the new Children’s Kindergarten on Kotzia Street, the establishment of the new 3rd Open Care Center for the elderly (Grohmann neighbourhood), the utilisation of European Youth Programmes, the construction of the new Children’s Kindergarten in Ampelakia (Kalamaki Avenue), the establishment of the Social Care Centre and the Volunteers’ Office, the establishment of the Movement “Products without intermediaries” and other social actions and structures that operated for the first time in Alimos.
In 2013, convinced that the old minds and ideas lead nowhere but to the quagmire, he begins his own independent struggle, with the support of worthy collaborators. He resigns as Deputy Mayor and creates the independent municipal movement “I love Alimos”, which is presented to Alimos’ citizens on November 9, 2013. On 25 May 2014 he wins by a large majority the elections for municipal authority in Alimos. Priorities of the Municipal Authority in the period 2014 – 2019 are cleanliness and the environment, culture, social solidarity, the consolidation of the finances of the Municipality, the rapid progress of the “big issues” of Alimos (Marina, former Airport, areas in the city plan, etc.), areas where the Municipality has made important work and progress.
In the Municipal Elections of 26 May 2019 he was re-elected in the first round with a percentage of 68,28 %.
In October 2019 he was elected a member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Association of Municipalities of Attica (P.E.D.A.).
In January 2020 he is appointed a member of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union for the period 2020 to 2025. He represents, together with the other 11 members of the Hellenic Delegation, the positions and views of the Self-Administrative Bodies of our country, in order to contribute to the resolution of critical issues of concern to local communities.
In the periods 2017-2019 and 2021-today he is Vice President of the Association of Municipalities of South Attica (SYDNA). The Association was established in 2017 following inter-municipal cooperation between the municipalities of Alimos, Kallithea and Paleo Faliro, with the aim of joint development of the municipalities of the coastal front and their upgrade.
Since 2021 he has been the President of the Association of Municipalities of the Metropolitan Pole, which was established in 2020 by the Municipalities of Glyfada and Alimos, in order to maximize and diffuse in the cities the benefit from the investments and the renovations in the “Athenian Riviera”.
